It can be noted that the Oedipus complex is very complex and that it is the subject of psychoanalysis, but also the subject of artistic processing, starting from ancient tragedians.A comparative analysis of this psychological motive in the works of D.H. Lawrence and Tennessee Williams was made in this work.Genre design is different, since Lawrence opted for a novel, and Williams for the genre of drama. However, this fact is less important.It is important in what way and through which literary premises both authors enter the complex psychological structure of the characters.
